Max Lucado says:   “In God’s plan, every life is long enough and every death is timely and though you and I might wish for a longer life, God knows better.  While we are questioning God, those that have died are marveling at the splendors of Heaven and lifting their hands in worship.”    So too is Emily.

August 23, 2001     -------    April 18, 2008 

 Emily was diagnosed with Anaplastic Medulloblastoma on August 5, 2006 just a few weeks shy of her 5^th birthday.  Over a span of 20 months she endured several surgeries, months of chemotherapy and the maximum amount of radiation treatments possible for her little body.  Emily fought a courageous battle but was lovingly accepted into God’s arms on the morning of April 18, 2008.  Emily was a joy to all that knew her.  She always had a smile on her face, and a twinkle in her eye.  She is now free from cancer and pain as she runs and plays on the streets of Heaven. She will always be missed.  Until we meet again sweet Emily, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

EMILY  HOLLIS  was our 6-year old cousin and gained her "Angel Wings", losing her battle with Anaplastic Medulloblastoma on April 18, 2008, a brave little girl that fought with all her might!  Her legacy lives on through the work of Emily's Encouragers.  She left behind wonderful visions of a beautiful smile, warm heart and lots of giggles.  Emily's Encouragers will continue to spread awareness about Childhood Cancer through fundraising efforts and participation in the Pender County Relay for Life.  Effective May 3, 2008, Emily's Encouragers was the top fundraising team for this years relay, raising $13,363.00 for the American Cancer Society.                          We are determined to find a cure!
